CUSCO

Donnerstag, 27.10.2011: Espinar - Cusco/PERU
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I look into the eyes of a very special city - Cusco.

In the Hostal Italia in the ground floor there is an Internet office with 20 computers. Yesterday I wanted to write a blog, but there was no place to get one for 1,- Soles per hour. This morning, when all children are in school - I can still write a blog ready.

When I load up my bike an older man stars to speak with me and asks where I am and what I do. At the end of the conversation he hugs me and wishes me a safe journey.

As soon as I'm out of town, also start the constructions.

Especially in rural areas the majority of the population still lives in such a very simple mud houses, sometimes even without electricity or running water.

Peru, is currently investing heavily in expanding the roads and I'm suddenly on one of the best streets of South America.

This joy will not last too long as I fight my way through construction sites and dirt roads.

Shortly before Sicuani I see the Laguna Langui.

In Sicuani I observe how women wash their laundry in the river.

A little further are dozens of animal skins edited and laid out to dry.

For my lunch I go into a small village.

I order a good amount of protein to regain my strength.

This is the grandma of the house, she is just cleaning potatoes.

It is interesting to me that wherever I go here occur, the women in their colorful costumes. A special distinction lies in the way of hats, the women wear.

Just before I get to Cusco, a small town in which joins one Chicharroneria to the next.

This beautiful building was built by the Spaniards. It decays rapidly, since it is not used. People prefer to sleep in their own homes.

And then I'm already in Cusco. In the city center I look for a hostel, where I can put my bike inside. Then it goes even into the shower. These slippers are one of my more saturated utensils on my journey.

After the usual electric shock shower I look more closely at the nightly Cusco.

In a gallery I see this special pictures.

And so a GOOD NIGHT from Cusco, the navel of the world.
