Auf meinem Weg von Peru nach Bolivien, Chile und Argentinien begegne ich immer wieder solchen Gedenkstätte. Heute wollen wir das Geheimnis aufdecken, was es mit den Wasserflaschen auf sich hat.
On my way from Peru to Bolivia, Chile and Argentina, I encounter again such a memorial. Today we want to uncover the mystery of what is going on with the water bottles.
En mi camino de Perú a Bolivia, Chile y Argentina, me encuentro una vez más como un monumento conmemorativo. Hoy queremos descubrir el misterio de lo que está pasando con las botellas de agua.
Im Hostel war nicht viel los und so hatte ich mein 8- Bett Zimmer für mich alleine. In Puerto Natales sind alle geschockt von dem Brand im Nationalpark Torres del Paine. In den Nachrichten wird mitgeteilt, dass sich der Brand immer mehr ausweitet. Wenig später wird der Nationalpark komplett gesperrt.
In the hostel was not busy so I had my 8 - bed room all to myself. In Puerto Natales are all shocked by the fire in the National Park Torres del Paine. In the news will be told that the fire is expanding more and more. A little later the National Park completely closed.

Die Legende der Difunta Correa, (entschlafene Correa) berichtet von einer jungen Frau, María Antonia Deolinda Correa. Ihr Mann wurde 1841 für den argentinieschen Bürgerkrieg eingezogen. Als sie dies erfuhr, folgte sie mit ihrem Baby dem Bataillon ihres Mannes zu Fuß durch die Wüste von San Juan um ihn zurück zu holen. Als ihr das Wasser und die Vorräte ausgingen starb sie, das Baby an ihre Brust gebettet.
The Legend of Difunta Correa (Correa slumbering), tells of a young woman, María Antonia Deolinda Correa. Her husband was drafted into the argentinian army 1841 for civil war. When she heard this, she followed with her baby to her husband's battalion on foot through the desert from San Juan to bring him back. When she run out of water and food she died, laid the baby on her breast.
La leyenda de la Difunta Correa (Correa durmiente), habla de una mujer joven, María Antonia Deolinda Correa. Su esposo fue reclutado por el Ejército Argentino 1841 para la guerra civil. Cuando se enteró de esto, siguió con su bebé al batallón de su marido a pie por el desierto de San Juan a traerlo de vuelta. Cuando se acaba el agua y los alimentos que ella murió, dejó al bebé en su pecho.
Vorbeiziehende Maultiertreiber (Gauchos) fanden ihren Leichnam. Zu ihrem Erstaunen lebte das Kind - von der toten Mutter ernährt. Die Mutter wurde von den Gauchos auf einem nahen Hügel, in einem Tal in der Nähe von Valecito begraben. Heute ist ihr Grab ein berühmter Wallfahrtsort. Von der Kirche wurde sie nie als Heilige anerkannt. Trotzdem pilgern gerade zu Ostern jedes Jahr mehr als 50 000 Menschen zu ihr in die Wüste. Bis 1940 bestand das Grab nur aus einem einfachen Kreuz auf einem Hügel. Dann entstand darum ein kleines Dorf und mittlerweile gibt es 17 Kapellen und Gedenkstätten in denen die Menschen um Wunder bitten.

Today, her grave is a famous pilgrimage site. From the church it was never recognized as a saint. Nevertheless, each year, more than 50.000 people make a pilgrimage to easter to her in the desert. By 1940, the grave consisted of a simple cross on a hill. Since then a small village was grown up with 17 chapels and memorials where people ask for miracles.

An manchen Gedenkstellen findet man so viel Schrott, dass man sich ein Auto zusammenbauen könnte. Solche Gedenkstätten findet man immer wieder, von Bolivien bis Feuerland.

In some places there are so many memorial scrap that you could assemble a car. Such memorials are found again and again, from Bolivia to Tierra del.

Im Hostel treffe ich wieder einmal auf meine australischen Amigos. Sie haben etwas mit einem chilenischen Motorradfahrer ausgemacht. Ich entscheide mich für einen Termin mit Gesine, die ich in Bariloche kennen gelernt habe.
