Ich packe meine Sachen und fahre noch einmal durch La Serena, bevor ich die Stadt verlasse.

I pack my things and drive through La Serena, before I leave the town.

Empaco mis cosas y volver a pasar en La Serena, antes de salir de la ciudad.

Etwas südlicher sehe ich eine wunderschöne Hotelanlage am Meer. Wer über das notwendige "Kleingeld" verfügt, kann sich hier sehr teuer einkaufen.

Just to the south I see a beautiful seaside resort. Who have the necessary "small money" may have, the opportunity to buy very expensive.

Was ist dass? Ein Spezial LKW mit riesiger Ladefläche. So etwas sieht man auch nicht alle Tage.

Chile ist einer der fortschrittlichsten Länder in Südamerika. Es wird viel in erneuerbare Energie investiert.

Chile es uno de los países más avanzados en América del Sur. Hay mucha inversión en energía renovable.

Unterwegs treffe ich auf diesen Autokonvoi. Hier wird gerade ein Kindergeburtstag gefeiert. Die Kinder und Tanten winken mir begeistert zu.

On the way I come across this car convoy. Here is just celebrated a birthday party. The children and caregivers are waving me enthusiastically.

En el camino me encuentro con esta caravana de coches. Aquí se acaba de celebrar una fiesta de cumpleaños. Los niños y los cuidadores se me agitaba con entusiasmo.

Ich suche nach einem Restaurant, direkt am Meer. Der Zugang zu den schönsten Stränden ist jedoch nicht möglich. Alles ist mit Stacheldraht eingezäunt.

I am looking for a restaurant overlooking the sea. Access to the most beautiful beaches is not possible. Everything is fenced with barbed wire.

Estoy buscando un restaurante con vistas al mar. El acceso a las playas más bellas no es posible. Todo está cercado con alambre de púas.

Ich finde dann doch ein Restaurant, direkt am Meer, wo ich mir einen leckeren Fisch gönne.
But then I find a restaurant by the sea, where I allow myself a tasty fish.
Pero entonces puedo encontrar un restaurante a orillas del mar, donde me dejo un sabroso pescado.

Knapp vor Santiago lege ich noch einen Stop ein. Es ist viel Verkehr und ich bin schon gespannt, was mich in der 5 Millionen Einwohner Stadt so alles erwartet.

Short before Santiago I just take another stop. There is a lot of traffic and I'm already excited about what awaits me in the city of 5 million people.

Poco antes de Santiago que acaba de tomar otra parada. Hay una gran cantidad de tráfico y ya estoy emocionado por lo que me espera en la ciudad de 5 millones de personas.

Direkt im Stadtzentrum finde ich mein Hotel mit Parkmöglichkeit für mein Motorrad.

Right in the city center, I find my hotel with parking for my motorcycle.

Justo en el centro de la ciudad, me parece a mi hotel con aparcamiento para mi moto.

Hier bekomme ich ein Zimmer für mich alleine um 8.000 Pesos, zirka € 12,-.
Here I get a room for myself by 8,000 pesos, about € 12, -.
Aquí tengo una habitación para mí solo por 8000 pesos, alrededor de € 12, -.

Das Zimmer hat zwar kein Fenster und die Dusche ist am Gang, aber das ist kein Problem. Wichtig ist, dass ich hier eine perfekte Internetverbindung habe, um meine Fotos hochzuladen und meinen Blog zu schreiben.

Although the room has no windows and the shower is on the floor, but that's no problem. The important thing here is that I have a perfect internet connection to upload my photos and write my blog.

Aunque la habitación no tiene ventanas y la ducha está en el piso, pero eso no es problema. Lo importante aquí es que tengo una conexión a internet perfecto para subir mis fotos y escribir mi blog.

Heute passierte etwas, woran man eigentlich gar nicht denk. Etwas, das für Chile jedoch Alltag ist.

Today, something happened, what you do not really mind. Something that is everyday life for Chile, however.

Hoy en día, algo sucedió, lo que no les importa realmente. Algo que es la vida cotidiana de Chile, sin embargo.

Nach dem Frühstück im deutschen Hostel www.hostalelpunto.cl muss ich mir Kühlerflüssigkeit für meine KTM besorgen. Als ich das Hostel verlasse sehe ich plötzlich sehr viele Menschen auf der Strasse stehen.

After breakfast at the German Hostel www.hostalelpunto.cl I need to get liquid cooler for my KTM. As I leave the hostel, I suddenly see a lot of people are on the road.

Después del desayuno en el Hostal www.hostalelpunto.cl alemán tengo que refrescar líquido para mi KTM. Al dejar el albergue, de repente ver una gran cantidad de personas que están en el camino.

Man spürt eine gewisse Anspannung, obwohl es sehr ruhig ist.

You can feel a certain tension, although it is very quiet.

Usted puede sentir una cierta tensión, aunque es muy tranquilo.

Wird hier demonstriert? Warum sind all diese vielen Menschen auf der Strasse?
Is demonstrated here? Why are all those many people on the street?
Se demuestra aquí? Por qué son todas esas muchas personas en la calle?

Dann geht es plötzlich los. Die Erde beginnt zu beben. Ich bekomme Panik.

Then it suddenly starts. The earth begins to shake. I get panic.

Entonces, de repente se apaga. La tierra comienza a temblar. Me da pánico.

Ich beginne zu rennen. Ich weiss nicht wohin. Nur weg von den Gebäuden, den Strommasten. Weg von allem was mich treffen könnte.

I start to run. I do not know where. Just get away from the buildings, the power poles. Away from anything that could make me.

Me pongo a correr. Yo no sé dónde. Simplemente alejarse de los edificios, los postes de electricidad. Lejos de cualquier cosa que me pudiera hacer.

Nach einer Stunde ist der Spuck vorbei. Zum Glück war das nur eine Übung. Kein wirkliches Erdbeben. Üben für den Ernstfall. Normalität in Chile.
After an hour it is over. Luckily this was only an exercise. Not a real earthquake. Practicing for the real thing. Normality in Chile.
Después de una hora de escupir ha terminado. Por suerte esto era sólo un ejercicio. No es un verdadero terremoto. La práctica de la cosa real. Normalidad en Chile.

Ich entscheide mich an den Strand zu gehen, da derzeit alle Geschäfte wegen der Erdbebenübung geschlossen haben.
I decide to go to the beach, as all shops are currently closed because of earthquake exercise.
Decido ir a la playa, como todas las tiendas están cerradas debido al ejercicio del terremoto.

Es ist sehr windig und kühl. Ich fotografiere eine der vielen Blumen, die hier am Strassenrand wachsen.
It is very windy and cool. I photograph one of the many flowers that grow here along the road.
Hace mucho viento y frío. Fotografío una de las muchas flores que crecen aquí en el camino.

Am schönen Sandstrand von La Serena ist nichts los. Die Badesaison beginnt erst in einigen Wochen, wenn es wärmer ist. Dann soll es hier bis zu 35 Grad haben.
On the beautiful sandy beach of La Serena is nothing going on. The bathing season begins in a few weeks when it's warmer. Then it will have up to 35 degrees.
En la hermosa playa de arena de La Serena está pasando nada. La temporada de baño comienza en unas semanas, cuando hace más calor. A continuación, tendrá hasta 35 grados.

Ich gehe wieder zurück in Richtung Stadtzentrum. Am 27.2.2010 hat sich in Chile eines der schwersten Erdbeben ereignet. Über 500 Personen starben an den Folgen des Erdbebens. Der Grossteil starb nicht durch einstürzende Häuser, sondern den nachfolgenden Tsunami.
I am going back towards the city center. On 27.02.2010 has occurred in Chile one of the largest earthquakes. About 500 people died as a result of the earthquake. The majority did not die by collapsing buildings, but the subsequent tsunami.
Voy a volver hacia el centro de la ciudad. El 27.02.2010 se ha producido en uno de los terremotos más grandes de Chile. Cerca de 500 personas murieron como consecuencia del terremoto. La mayoría no murieron por el derrumbe de edificios, pero el posterior tsunami.

Ich gehe zurück zum Einkaufszentrum. Inzwischen wurde die Erdbebenübung beendet und die Geschäfte haben wieder geöffnet.
I go back to the mall. Meanwhile, the earthquake exercise ended, and the shops have reopened.
Vuelvo al centro comercial. Mientras tanto, el ejercicio finalizado el terremoto, y las tiendas reabrieron tienen.

Im Hostel entferne ich die Seitenverkleidung der KTM und fülle Kühlerflüssigkeit nach. Morgen fahre ich in die Hauptstadt Chiles, nach Santiago. Dort muss ich mir das Problem in einer Werkstätte genauer anschauen lassen. Ich will nicht noch einen Motorschaden riskieren.
In the hostel I remove the side panel of the KTM and fill up with fluid cooler. Tomorrow I'm going to the Chilean capital, Santiago. There, I have to let me look at the problem in more detail in a workshop. I do not want to risk one more engine failure.
En el albergue que quitar el panel lateral de la KTM y se llenan de líquido refrigerador. Mañana voy a la capital chilena, Santiago. No, tengo que dejarme mirar el problema con más detalle en un taller. No quieren arriesgarse a un fallo de motor.

Auch im Hostel gibt es einige besondere Blumen, die ich fotografiere. Dann schreibe ich meinen Blog und plaudere mit einigen Touristen im Hostel.
Also at the hostel, there are some special flowers that I photograph. Then I write my blog and chat with some tourists in the hostel.

También en el albergue, hay algunas flores especiales que fotografía. A continuación escribo mi blog y charlar con los turistas en el albergue.

Am Abend fahre ich an den Strand um mir ein gutes Abendessen zu gönnen.
In the evening I drive to the beach for a nice dinner.
Por la tarde voy a la playa para que yo disfrute de una agradable cena.

Am Abend ist es sehr kalt und so freue ich mich, das es einen Ofen im Lokal gibt. Zusätzlich sorgt ein Meeresfrüchteauflauf dafür, meinen Magen zu wärmen.
In the evening it is very cold and I am glad that there's a stove in the restaurant. In addition, a seafood casserole makes sure to warm my stomach.
Por la noche hace mucho frío y me alegro de que hay una estufa en el restaurante. Además, una cazuela de mariscos hace que se caliente el estómago.

Bei der Preiskalkulation des Bieres scheint es sich um einen Fehler zu handeln. Ich bestelle mir ein paar "kleine" Bier.
When calculating the price of beer, it seems to be a mistake. I order a few "small" beer.
Al calcular el precio de la cerveza, que parece ser un error. Puedo pedir algunos "pequeños" de cerveza.

Morgen geht es nach Santiago de Chile und wenn es irgendwie möglich ist, möchte ich von dort auf die Insel RAPA NUI fliegen.
Tomorrow it goes to Santiago de Chile, and if at all possible, I want to fly from there to the island of Rapa Nui.
Mañana va a Santiago de Chile, y si es posible, quiero volar de allí a la isla de Rapa Nui.
