Antarctica - day 4: Antarctic Circle

In der heutigen Nacht ist etwas passiert, das mein Leben gravierend verändern sollte.
Something happened tonight that should change my life completely.
Esta noche pasó algo que debería cambiar mi vida en serio.

Heute geht es vom offenen Meer der Drakepassage ins Eis. Unser heutiges Ziel ist der Antarktische Kreis. 7 Meilen vor Erreichen dieses Zieles sollten wir scheitern.

Today it goes from the open sea of the Drake Passage into the ice.Our destination today is the Antarctic Circle. 7 miles before reachingthis goal, we should fail. 

Hoy en día va desde el mar abierto del Pasaje de Drake en el hielo.Hoy nuestro destino es el Círculo Polar Antártico. 7 millas antes de llegar a esta meta, debemos fallar.

This is my double cab, which I share with Michael from Australia, Claudia from Bolivia and a "speaking pillow" from ??.

Wer gedacht hat, dass es in der Antarktis auch Eisbären gibt, der hat sich geirrt. Eisbären gibt es nur am Nordpol in der Arktis. Trotzdem habe ich einen Eisbären in meiner Kabine gesichtet.

Who thought that there are also polar bears in Antarctica, has made a mistake. Polar bears are only at the North Pole in the Arctica. Nevertheless, I spotted a polar bear in my cabin.

Quién hubiera pensado que también hay osos polares en la Antártida, ha cometido un error. Los osos polares son sólo en el Polo Norte en laArctica. Sin embargo, vi a un oso polar en mi camarote.

Plötzlich taucht der erste Eisberg am Horizont auf.

Suddenly, we see the first iceberg on the horizon. 

De repente, vemos el primer iceberg en el horizonte.

Nach dem Frühstück gibt es wieder einen Vortrag unter Deck. Wir erfahren alles über die ersten Polarkreis Expeditionen.

After breakfast there is a talk back below deck. We learn everything about the first Arctic Circleexpeditions. 

Después del desayuno hay una charla de nuevo por debajo de la cubierta. Nos enteramos de todo lo relacionado con las expediciones de primer Círculo Ártico.

Als wir wieder nach oben gehen sind wir von Eis umgeben.

When we go up again, we aresurrounded by ice. 

Cuando vamos de nuevo, estamos rodeados de hielo.

Die Landschaft und das Meer sehen gespenstisch aus.

The landscape and the sea lookghostly. 

El paisaje y el mar la miradafantasmal.

Und dann sehen wir auch schon die ersten Seals. Sie liegen auf den dickeren Eisschollen um vor den Angriffen von Killerwalen geschützt zu sein.

And then we can already see the first Seals. They lie on the thick ice flores to be protected from killer whale attacks. 

Y entonces ya podemos ver los primeros sellos. Se encuentran en el espesor de hielo flores para protegerse de los ataques de las orcas.

Langsam bahnt sich die "Antarctic Dream" ihren Weg durch das immer dichter werdende Eis. Vor kurzer Zeit ist hier ein russisches Schiff stecken geblieben.

Slowly forges the "Antarctic Dream" their way through the increasingly dense ice. Not long ago, a Russian ship got stuck here. 

Lentamente, va forjando el "Antarctic Dream" a su manera a través del hielo cada vez más densa. No hace mucho, un barco ruso se quedó atascadoaquí.

Plötzlich - der erste Pinguin. Einsam steht er in der weiten Eiswüste.

Suddenly - the first penguin. Alone he stands in the vast wasteland.

It is very cold on deck.

Der Kapitän entdeckt etwas, was nicht in die Antarktis gehört - eine Schiffsboje. Wir halten an und retten die Boje.

The captain discovers something that does not belong in the Antarctic - a ship buoy. We stop to rescue the buoy. 

El capitán descubre algo que no pertenece a la Antártida - una boya de barco. Nos detenemos para rescatar a la boya.

Ich besichtige die Schiffs-Brücke und beobachte den Kapitän, wie er das Schiff durch die Eismassen navigiert.

I visit the ship's bridge and watch the captain as he navigate the ship through the ice. 

Puedo visitar el puente del buque y ver al capitán ya que el barco navegue a través del hielo.

Und dann, 7 Meilen vor Erreichung des Antarktischen Kreises müssen wir umdrehen.

And then, 7 miles before reaching the Antarctic Circle we have to turn back. 

Y luego, a 7 millas antes de llegar al Círculo Polar Antártico, tenemos que volver atrás.

Zum Nachmittagstee erfahren wir die Details. Das Eis ist zu dick geworden und wir versuchen nun über die offene See den Antarktischen Kreis zu erreichen. Dies wird voraussichtlich in den frühen Morgenstunden des nächsten Tages sein.

At afternoon tea, we get the details. The ice has become too thick and we are now trying to sail on the open sea to the Antarctic Circle. This will be in the early morning hours of the next day.

Then there is a presentation of Rodrigo, who tells uswhat is important in photography.

Cii hat nicht viel zum Anziehen, dafür einen grossen Hunger.

It is Tuesday 10 January 2012, 1 clock 30, as we cross the Antarctic Circle. It's cold and started snowing.

In diesen Morgenstunden kommt es dann zu meinem ANTARCTIC CIRCLE KISS. Dieser Kuss sollte einiges in meinem Leben verändern.

In the morning, it then comes to my ANTARCTICCIRCLE KISS. This kiss should change something in my life.
