Die zwei Tage in Fukuoka sind geplant um berufliches aufzubereiten. Dass heute aber noch "scharf" geschossen wird, hätte ich nicht gedacht.
The two days in Fukuoka are planned for some business preparation. I would not have thought, that there would be a "sharp" shooting today.

Nachdem ich heute den ganzen Tag am Computer, in meinem Hotelzimmer verbracht habe, muss ich raus. Ich beschließe zum Ohori Parkt zu fahren, der einige Kilometer außerhalb vom Stadtzentrum liegt.
After spending the whole day at the computer in my hotel room today, I have to get out. I decide to drive to Ohori Park, which is a few kilometers outside of the city center.

Ich durchquere den See über einen Steg/Insel, die den See durchteilt. Die Einheimischen lieben diesen Park und nutzen ihn als Laufstrecke, zum Spazierengehen und als spezieller Treffpunkt für Verliebte.
I cross the lake via a jetty / island that divides the lake. The locals love this park and use it as a running track, for walking and as a special meeting point for lovers.

Und dann sehe ich sie!!! 2 Mistkübel!!! Undenkbar in Japan!! Welcher rücksichtslose Mensch hat die wohl hier hingestellt?
And then I see her !!! 2 garbage cans !!! Unthinkable in Japan !! Which reckless person put them here?

Rund um den See leben die Schönen und Reichen und es befindet sich manch ein rätselhaftes Gebäude in der Umgebung.
The rich and beautiful live around the lake and there are many puzzling buildings in the area.





Die Verliebten begnügen sich vorerst mit einer Kuschelfahrt mit dem Schwan.
For the time being, lovers are content with a cuddle ride with the swan.



Es ist spät geworden und so müssen die Schwäne ins Bett gebracht werden.
It has gotten late and so the swans have to be put to bed.









Ein Starbucks darf auch im Park nicht fehlen. Seit 1996 ist Starbucks in Japan erfolgreich unterwegs.
A Starbucks should not be missing in the park either. Starbucks has been operating successfully in Japan since 1996.



Einfach traumhaft, wie hier alles schon blüht.

Eigentlich wollte ich mir diese Ausstellung im Fukuoka Art Museum anschauen - das ist sich aber zeitlich leider nicht mehr ausgegangen.
Actually, I wanted to see this exhibition at the Fukuoka Art Museum - but unfortunately that didn't work out in time.









Ich komme zurück zu meinem Motorrad. Der Motorradhelm wurde nicht gestohlen, wie seinerzeit in Santa Cruz oder auf den Sitz gepinkelt, wie in Riga/Lettland vor einigen Jahren. Das ist Japan! Hier wird nicht gestohlen, vandaliert oder beschädigt! 
I come back to my motorcycle. The motorcycle helmet was not stolen, as it was in Santa Cruz/USA, or peed on the seat, as in Riga / Latvia a few years ago. This is japan! There is no stealing, vandalism, or damage here!



Ich fahre wieder zurück ins Stadtzentrum, zu meinem Hotel. Es ist starker Abendverkehr auf der Straße. Ich hole mir was zum Essen, schalte einen Film ein und bald schon, fallen mir die Augen zu.
I drive back to the city center, to my hotel. There is heavy evening traffic on the street. I get something to eat, turn on a movie and soon fall asleep.

BUDDHA & THE BEAST

Heute werde ich die größte Bronzestatue der Welt besichtigen - den Buddha von Nanzoin.
Today, I will see the "largest" bronze statue in the world - the Buddha from Nanzoin.

Als ich aufwache, strahlt die Sonne bereits am Himmel. Ich gehe duschen und dann gibt es auch schon Frühstück im Restaurant der Anlage.
When I wake up, the sun is already shining from the sky. I take a shower and join a breakfast in the restaurant of the compound.

Ich setze mich auf die Terrasse und lausche der Meeresbrandung. Was für eine Geräuschkulisse. Ich will hier gar nicht mehr weg.
I sit on the terrace and listen to the sound of the waves. What a background noise. I don't want to leave this place.

Ich verlasse heute die Hauptinsel und fahre auf die drittgrößte Hauptinsel Japans - Kyushu. Kyushu ist mit 13 Millionen Einwohnern relativ dünn besiedelt. In den großen Städten am Meer spielt sich das meiste ab. Das Landesinnere der Insel ist von Bergen, Wäldern und Vulkanen geprägt.
Today I am leaving the main island and driving to the third-largest main island in Japan - Kyushu. With a population of 13 million, Kyushu is relatively sparsely populated. Most people live in the big cities by the sea. The midland is characterized by mountains, forests, and volcanoes.



Das Straßennetz in Japan ist sehr gut ausgebaut. Über Autobahnen sind die Ziele sehr rasch erreichbar. Ich versuche, wenn möglich, Autobahnen zu vermeiden. Zum einen sind sie sehr teuer und zum anderen kann man so Japn nicht wirklich er-leben.
The roads in Japan are very well developed. The destinations can be reached very quickly via the motorways. I try to avoid highways whenever possible. On the one side, they are very expensive and on the other side, you can't really experience Japan.

Ich erreiche den Nanzo-in-Tempel. Ursprünglich befand er sich auf dem Berg Koyasan, aber lokale anti-buddhistische Behörden drohten 1886, den Tempel zu zerstören. Der öffentliche Aufschrei führte zu einem jahrzehntelangen Versuch, den Tempel nach Sasaguri zu verlegen.
I reach the Nanzo-in temple. It was originally located on Mount Koyasan, but local anti-Buddhist authorities threatened to destroy the temple in 1886. The public outcry resulted in a decade-long attempt to move the temple to Sasaguri.

Es wurde 1899 unter der Führung des Sasaguri-Priesters Hayashi Satoshiun an den jetzigen Standort verlegt. Der Nanzo-in-Tempel ist der Hauptort unter den 88 Tempeln, aus denen sich der Sasaguri-Pilgerweg zusammensetzt, einer der drei berühmten Pilgerwege in Japan.
It was moved to its current location in 1899 under the leadership of Sasaguri priest Hayashi Satoshiun. Nanzo-in Temple is the main site among the 88 temples that make up the Sasaguri Pilgrimage Route, one of the three famous pilgrimage routes in Japan.

Es ist eine riesige Anlage, die sich über verschiedene Bereiche erstreckt. Mein erster Anstieg führt mich in eine Sackgasse. Wo ist der Buddha?
It is a huge facility that extends over different areas. My first ascent leads me to a dead end. Where is the buddha?

Und dann sehe ich ihn. Zuerst nur seinen Kopf, der bereits riesig ist und dann die ganze Buddha Statue.
And then I see him. First, just his head, which is already huge, and then the whole Buddha statue.

Die liegende Buddha-Statue, bekannt als Nehanzo oder Shaka Nehan ("Nirvana"), ist 41 Meter lang, 11 Meter hoch und wiegt fast 300 Tonnen und ist damit die größte Bronzestatue der Welt. Die Statue zeigt Buddha im Moment des Todes oder des Eintritts in das Nirvana.
The reclining Buddha statue, known as Nehanzo or Shaka Nehan ("Nirvana"), is 41 meters long, 11 meters high and weighs almost 300 tons, making it the largest bronze statue in the world. The statue shows Buddha at the moment of death or entry into nirvana.

Wow, ich bin beeindruckt von der Größe. Anhand der Füße erkennt man schon die ganzen Ausmaße.

Umgeben ist der Buddha mit einer Vielzahl an Statuen, die alle sehr realistische Gesichtszüge aufweisen.
The Buddha is surrounded by a large number of statues, all of which have very realistic facial features.

Über einen schmalen Gang kann mann hinter die Statue gehen. Hier befindet sich das Armband von Buddha mit zirka 3 Metern Durchmesser. Über einen Gang gelangt man in das Gebäude dahinter. Hier werden Knochen der Verstorbenen in dieses Kästen aufgebahrt.
You can go behind the statue via a narrow corridor. Here is the Buddha's bracelet with a diameter of about 3 meters. A corridor leads to the building behind it. Bones of the deceased are laid out in these boxes.

Der Nanzo-in-Tempel hat 4.315 solcher Boxen. Der Tempel hat eine nicht traditionelle Gebührenstruktur dafür. Erstens ist es offen für alle Sekten des Buddhismus und sogar offen für shintoistische Gebeine. Zweitens sind viele buddhistische Tempel auf eine monatliche Gebühr für die Unterbringung der Knochen der Verstorbenen angewiesen, die dann nach einer festgelegten Zeit entsorgt werden. Der Nanzo-in-Tempel hat eine Gebühr, die 200 Jahre abdeckt.
The Nanzo-in Temple has 4,315 such boxes. The temple has a non-traditional fee structure for this. First, it is open to all sects of Buddhism and even open to Shinto bones. Second, many Buddhist temples rely on a monthly fee to house the deceased's bones, which are then disposed of after a set period of time. The Nanzo-in Temple has a fee that covers 200 years.

Ich mache noch ein paar Detailfotos und denke, dass ich jetzt alles gesehen habe. Ich sollte mich täuschen.

Über 1 Million Besucher pro Jahr kommen hier her um diese Statue zu besichtigen. Dazu gehören noch weitere heilige Stätten, die ich mir jetzt ansehe. Über einen Tunnel gelangt man in den westlichen Teil der Anlage.
Over 1 million visitors a year come here to see this statue. These include other holy sites that I am now exploring. A tunnel leads to the western part of the facility.

Hier wartet sie schon auf mich - diese grausame Figur. Ich mache schnell ein paar Fotos und dann sehe ich das Schild. No Picture. Es ist zu spät......

Das kann Folgen habe. ich mache noch ein paar Fotos vom oberen teil der Anlage und mache mich dann auf den Weg zu meinem Etappenziel - nach Fukuoka.
That can have consequences. I take a few more photos of the upper part of the facility and then set off to my destination - to Fukuoka.
