Lake Toya/Hokkaido - Sapporo/Hokkaido

Heute geht es von Toyako in die Hauptstadt von Hokkaido, nach Sapporo. Mit knapp 2 Millionen Einwohnern ist hier ganz schön was los.
Eines der vorteilhaften Dinge in Japan ist die Toilettensituation. Alle Supermärkte von Lawson, Family Mart oder wie hier 7 Eleven haben eine Toilette, die frei benutzt werden kann - egal ob man etwas einkauft oder nicht. Das ist beim Reisen sehr praktisch und auch Claudia freut sich über eine Pause.
One of the beneficial things in Japan is the toilet situation. All supermarkets, like Lawson, Family Mart or 7 Eleven have a toilet that can be used freely - regardless of whether you are shopping or not. This is very practical when traveling and Claudia is also happy about a break.
Auf der Bundesstraße am Meer entlang sehe ich meinen ersten Bären für heute.
On a local street along the beach, I see my first bear for today.
Und dann passiert ein Unfall. Ich stehe auf der 4-spurigen Hauptstraße, zirka 10 Kilometer vor Sapporo. Ein alter Mann versucht mit seinem Fahrrad die Straße zu überqueren und stürzt. Ich fahre zu ihm hin, springe vom Motorradund helfe ihm auf. An seiner Hand hat sich ein großes Stück Haut abgelöst und er blutet, ansonsten scheint er OK zu sein. In seinem Fahrrad hat er im Einkaufskorb vorne eine schwere Batterie transportiert, die das Fahrrad instabil gemacht hat. Sein Fahrrad hat auch irgendwie überlebt und so bleibe ich noch mit ihm am Seitenrand, bis es ihm besser geht. Dann geht es weiter nach Sapporo.
And then an accident happens. I am on the 4-lane main road, about 10 kilometers before Sapporo. An old man tries to cross the street with his bike and falls. I drive to him, jump off the motorcycle and help him up. A large piece of skin on his hand has peeled off and he is bleeding, otherwise, he seems to be OK. He carried a heavy battery in the shopping basket at the front, which made the bike unstable. His bike survived as well. I stay with him on the side until he is better. Then it goes on to Sapporo.

Was man in Japan sehr oft sieht, sind nachgemachte Speisen in Plastik in einer Vitrine vor dem Restaurant. Damit kann man gleich sehen, was man im Restaurant zu essen bekommt.
What you see very often in Japan are imitation plastic dishes in a display case in front of the restaurant. So you can immediately see what you can eat in the restaurant.
Die Ramen Suppe war ein Hammer! Ich gehe die ganze "Tanuki-koji" ab und bewundere die anderen Restaurants und Geschäfte.

Ich zahle an einem Automaten, wähle die richtige Suppe aus und bekomme ein Ticket, dass ich dem Kellner gebe. Damit muss sich der Kellner nicht mit dem Kleingeld herumschlagen. Trinkgeld gibt es in Japan ja keines.

Nach einem langen, erlebnsreichen Tag gehe ich wieder zrück zum Hotel und freue mich aufs Bett.
