GRAFITI TOWN

Nach einem Spätfrühstück erkunde ich die Stadt.
After a late breakfast, I explore the city.
Después de un desayuno tardío, voy a explorar la ciudad.


Was die wenigsten wissen - der Sitz des chilenischen Kongresses befindet sich in Valparaiso. Die eigentliche Hauptstadt ist jedoch Santiago.
What few people know - the seat of the Chilean Congress is located in Valparaiso. However, the real capital is Santiago.
Lo que pocos saben - la sede del Congreso chileno se encuentra en Valparaíso. Sin embargo, la verdadera capital es Santiago.



Die Stadt hat 278.000 Einwohner. Mit den umliegenden Gemeinden sind es 905.000 Einwohner.
The city has 278,000 inhabitants. With the surrounding communities, there are 905 000 inhabitants.
La ciudad tiene 278.000 habitantes. Con las comunidades aledañas, hay 905 000 habitantes.



Die Stadt gilt als kulturelle Hauptstadt Chiles. Im Juli 2003 wurde der historische Stadtkern mit seiner Architektur aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt.
The city is considered the cultural capital of Chile. In July 2003, the historic city center with its 19th and 20th-century architecture got the UNESCO World Heritage.
La ciudad es considerada la capital cultural de Chile. En julio de 2003, el centro histórico de la ciudad con su arquitectura del siglo 19 y 20, consiguió el Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.




Am Weg zum Hafen schaue ich mir einen sehr alten Friedhof an.
On the way to the harbor I look at a very old cemetery.
En el camino hacia el puerto miro en un cementerio muy antiguo.




Die Gründung der Stadt erfolgt im Jahr 1544 durch den Spanier Juan Bautista Pastene. Während der Kolonialzeit entwickelte sich Valparaíso zunächst nur langsam und blieb über lange Zeit ein unbedeutendes Fischerdorf, was auch auf die zahlreichen Überfälle von Piraten und Freibeutern zurückzuführen ist. So überfiel Francis Drake auf seiner Weltumsegelung am 5. Dezember 1578 die Stadt, erbeutete ein Schiff und plünderte die Häuser.
The founding of the town was in 1544 by the Spaniard Juan Bautista Pastene. During the colonial period, Valparaíso initially developed only slowly and remained for a long time as a insignificant fishing village, which is numerous attacked by pirates and buccaneers. Francis Drake attack the city on his circumnavigation on 5th December 1578. He captured a ship and plundered the houses.
El fundador de la ciudad fue en 1544 por el español de Juan Bautista Pastene. Durante el período colonial, Valparaíso inicialmente desarrollado muy lentamente y se mantuvo durante mucho tiempo como una insignificante aldea de pescadores, que es atacada por numerosos piratas y bucaneros. Francis Drake atacan la ciudad en su periplo el 5 de diciembre de 1578. Se capturaron un barco y saquearon las casas.




1811 wurde dann der Hafen ausgebaut und die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung von Valparaiso nahm deutlich zu.
1811, then expanded the port of Valparaiso and the economic importance increased significantly.
1811, luego se amplió el puerto de Valparaíso y la importancia económica aumentó considerablemente.



Valparaísos Hafen zählt zu den wichtigsten Häfen Südamerikas. Im 19. Jahrhundert war Valparaíso jahrzehntelang der größte Hafen des gesamten Pazifikraumes. Nach der Eröffnung des Panamakanals 1914 nahm seine Bedeutung allerdings rapide ab.
Valparaíso port is one of the main ports of South America. In the 19th Century, Valparaíso was for decades the largest port in the Pacific region. After the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914 its importance, however, declined rapidly.
Puerto de Valparaíso es uno de los principales puertos de América del Sur. En el siglo 19, Valparaíso fue durante décadas el puerto más grande de la región del Pacífico. Después de la apertura del Canal de Panamá en el año 1914 su importancia, sin embargo, declinó rápidamente.



Die Stadt erstreckt sich über eine Vielzahl von Hügeln. Auf 15 der wichtigsten Hügeln führt eine Standseilbahn.
The city is spread over a number of hills. In 15 of the most important hills leads a funicular railway.
La ciudad se extiende sobre una serie de colinas. En 15 de los cerros más importantes lleva un funicular.


 

Hier bieten sich mir unzählige Fotomotive, wie zum Beispiel diese, besonders bemalte Eingangstüre.

Aquí tengo un sinnúmero de oportunidades de fotos, como ésta, sobre todo pintado de puerta de entrada.




Über diesen besonderen Stiegenaufgang kommt man zu den Behausungen der "Valparaiso-Riesen-Tarantel".
Via this particular staircase you come to the homes of the "Valparaiso Giant Tarantula."
A través de esta escalera de concreto que llegan a los hogares de la "Tarántula Gigante de Valparaíso".





Am Abend geht es wieder zurück nach Santiago. Morgen Früh geht mein Flieger nach Rapa Nui.
In the evening it goes back to Santiago. Tomorrow, early morning is my flight to Rapa Nui.
Por la tarde viaje de regreso a Santiago. Temprano en la mañana sale mi vuelo a Rapa Nui.
